Mablethorpe Marathon once again partnering with Maria Hanson Foundation (me&dee registered charity)
The Mablethorpe Marathon Foundation is delighted to be working once again with the Maria Hanson Foundation (me&dee). The Maria Hanson Foundation supports people living with a life-limiting condition, arranging holidays for families facing a short and uncertain future together, and for physically and emotionally injured service men and women. These wonderful holidays are in two caravans plus beach huts in Mablethorpe. The charity was formed to create special moments and memories to ensure that both children and adults share distinctive experiences when time is precious. What a wonderful cause!
The Maria Hanson Foundation has supplied all the rucksacks for runners’ goodie bags this year and will also be holding a stall (with a tombola, and selling sweets amongst other things) on the day. Their collection boxes will be out too for you to dispose of your loose change; all for a great cause.
There are 48 people running for me&dee this year. Amongst them will be local Debbie Prince. Debbie ran the first ever Mablethorpe marathon in 2006 and will be doing her last ever marathon this year; the perfect tribute to both the Mablethorpe Marathon and me&dee’s centenary year. Believe it or not, local Gaz Brown will also be running the second half of Debbie’s marathon with a bin weighing 48lb strapped to his back; just one of the many amazing sights you’ll see on the day!

Info: Gaz isn’t a local, he is from the midlands and in case needed, he is ex decorated military and an Daz’s Den charity champion (the two vans are called me&dee’s den for the families and Daz’s Den for the military)
